ToolShop: prerelease inspections for protein structure prediction servers
نویسنده
چکیده
UNLABELLED The ToolShop server offers a possibility to compare a protein tertiary structure prediction server with other popular servers before releasing it to the public. The comparison is conducted on a set of 203 proteins and the collected models are compared with over 20 other programs using various assessment procedures. The evaluation lasts circa one week. AVAILABILITY The ToolShop server is available at http://BioInfo.PL/ToolShop/. The administrator should be contacted to couple the tested server to the evaluation suite. CONTACT [email protected] SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION The evaluation procedures are similar to those implemented in the continuous online server evaluation program, LiveBench. Additional information is available from its homepage (http://BioInfo.PL/LiveBench/).

In Silico Perspectives on the Prediction of the PLP’s Epitopes involved in Multiple Sclerosis
Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS). The main cause of the MS is yet to be revealed, but the most probable theory is based on the molecular mimicry that concludes some infections in the activation of T cells against brain auto-antigens that initiate the disease cascade. Objectives: The Purpose of this research is the...
متن کاملComparative modelling of 3D-structure of Geobacter sp. M21 (a metal reducing bacteria) Mn-Fe superoxide dismutase and its binding properties with bisphenol-A, aminotriazole and ethylene-diurea
Superoxide dismutase play important roles in iron-respiratory bacteria such as Geobacteraceae as an antioxidant defense, and probably an effective enzyme of electron transfer network. Regarding the application of iron-respiratory bacteria in environmental biotechnology particularly biodegradation and bioremediation, understanding the mechanism of inhibition/induction of superoxide dismutase by ...
متن کاملProtein structure prediction servers at University College London
A number of state-of-the-art protein structure prediction servers have been developed by researchers working in the Bioinformatics Unit at University College London. The popular PSIPRED server allows users to perform secondary structure prediction, transmembrane topology prediction and protein fold recognition. More recent servers include DISOPRED for the prediction of protein dynamic disorder ...
متن کاملProtein Secondary Structure Prediction: a Literature Review with Focus on Machine Learning Approaches
DNA sequence, containing all genetic traits is not a functional entity. Instead, it transfers to protein sequences by transcription and translation processes. This protein sequence takes on a 3D structure later, which is a functional unit and can manage biological interactions using the information encoded in DNA. Every life process one can figure is undertaken by proteins with specific functio...
متن کاملEVA: evaluation of protein structure prediction servers
EVA (http://cubic.bioc.columbia.edu/eva/) is a web server for evaluation of the accuracy of automated protein structure prediction methods. The evaluation is updated automatically each week, to cope with the large number of existing prediction servers and the constant changes in the prediction methods. EVA currently assesses servers for secondary structure prediction, contact prediction, compar...
